Helpful Habits for a Great Day!

For most of us, waking up early is not easy. I “taught” myself to wake up early out of necessity and now I wouldn’t have it any other way. Emilia caught the early “bug” too and even on the weekends we are both usually up before 8:00 am.  And YES, you can “teach” yourself to wake up early! Why should you want to? Because mornings are the foundation of your day and you want to start off on the right foot from the moment you get up. Here are some helpful habits for making every day a great day!

  1. Wake up early — it might be difficult at first but you will soon notice you it will motivate you more than sleep will!
  2. Try to avoid drinking too much (or at all) the night before – being honest, I don’t follow this one.
  3. Don’t press snooze! Those few minutes do not equal rest.
  4. Get out of the bedroom, get dressed and get moving as soon as you wake up — don’t get tempted to jump back under the covers.
  5. Pray and reflect. While you do this, remind yourself of your goals and aspirations.
  6. Exercise! Get your workout done before you leave for the day.
  7. Take a hot shower.
  8. Follow your beauty routine.
  9. Map out your day and plan how you will get things done on your To-Do List.
  10. Listen to music that pumps you up.
  11. Listen, read or watch something that motivates and inspires you.
  12. I know you’ve heard it before — eat a good breakfast!
  13. Start the day doing the hardest / most dreaded thing on your list. It will get easier after that!
  14. Have a light supper instead of a big dinner and you won’t wake up feeling full and lethargic.
  15. Try to always be five minutes ahead of schedule so if something happens, you’ll still be on time.
  16. Check your messages and emails so you can plan accordingly.
  17. Catch up on the news so you aren’t entirely clueless about current events
  18. Drink a cup or two of water — a little bit can work wonders for your body.
  19. Try to stick to your routine during the week, and don’t deviate too much on the weekend — it will make Mondays easier!
  20. Smile, go outside and be grateful!
