Super Snacks to Have on Hand
Emilia and I have snacks almost every day, except for Sundays, when our eating schedule is a little off, and we usually have our superfoods shake or a Greek yogurt parfait with our favorite protein bar. For most people, snacking is a daily “meal”. A lot of times this happens at work or after school for kids. Instead of heading to the vending machine it would be cost-effective and beneficial to you if you have a snack with you that helps you reach your health goals.
Here is a list of 5 snacks to have on hand!
Apple – Apples contain flavonoids which are known for fighting fat. They are also full of antioxidants and dietary fiber. An apple a day is a great motto.
Greek Yogurt – One of our favorites (I’ve even grown to love plain Greek yogurt!). Greek yogurt is full of protein and has a low number of fat and carbs. It also contains probiotics. This kind of yogurt supports a healthy bacterial balance in the gut for everyone.
Oatmeal – Oats are a whole grain that is nutritious and helps you feel full. Use this as a breakfast or snack. It would be easy to keep a few steel-cut packets in your desk to make in the break
Eggs – Eggs have a high amount of protein. They digest slowly and have a small number of calories. Make up a batch of hardboiled eggs and bring them for your snack.
Almonds – Almonds are good fat that digests well. They are also loaded with antioxidants. Keep packets in your bag, desk, or briefcase for those hunger attacks.
